This designer kitchen is the heart of a multi-year remodeling project we completed in 2025 that totally transformed a Santa Cruz Harbor-area home into a tasteful and elegant residence designed for aging in place.
The kitchen is a true showstopper. Inspired by the swirling colors and natural veining of a single quartzite slab, the design centers on the various colors of the stone, which includes a blend red, blue, black, white and overlapping shades in betwen. That slab became the anchor point for a kitchen that balances precision craftsmanship with artistic expression.
Custom cabinetry from Santa Cruz cabinetmaker Schmitz Woodworks feature custom bronze handles that promise to grow a well-worn patina with age. Thoughtful lighting, and high-performance appliances, like this Wolf range pictured here, further elevate the space.
