The Kitchen Remodel: Renewing the Heart of Your Home
We love doing kitchen remodels! They are fast, fun, projects that are hugely rewarding for years to come. We believe kitchens should be both functional and beautiful. Beyond their normal duty, they can also be a place to entertain, a quiet place to enjoy a cup of tea, or the central meeting place in your household. We would love to help you create your dream kitchen! Contact us when you would like to get started.
A typical remodel project with SCGB's design team looks like this:
Programming and Information gathering
We will collaborate with you to establish your overall project goals, aesthetic vision, functional needs, and budget.
We'll do a site visit to take detailed measurements of the existing space.
Schematic Design
At this stage we will begin to outline the direction of your design. We will deliver floor plans and 3D renderings, and we will begin to work with you to figure out material selections.
Cost estimating
Once the schematic design has been approved, we will put together a rough cost estimate for construction. This helps to ensure your project will be within budget, as we proceed with the design.
Design Development
This is when your design really starts to come to life. The goal of this stage is to finalize interior elevations and design details to make your custom kitchen uniquely your own!
We will get into the nitty gritty details of your kitchen at this stage, and at its completion you will be presented with a detailed set of cabinetry drawings, as well as a quote from Bellmont Cabinets. Cabinets and other products
Construction documentation and permitting
We will put together your submittal package for the local building department, including coordinating with any consultants who are necessary, and we will shepherd your project through the permitting pipeline.
Handoff and collaboration with the construction team
We will hand off the design to the construction team at Santa Cruz Green Builders and communicate any relevant details and information
We will work closely with the Project Manager, throughout the course of construction, to ensure the transition from design to build is as seamless as possible.
