Cody and John Work head up our husband and wife design team. They are creative problem solvers, excellent communicators, CAD wizards, and they love design. Cody mostly focuses on kitchen and interior design, while John does building design, solar, and mechanical design. When they are not at work, you will find John foil surfing at Waddell, and Cody playing with her 2 Cavalier puppies

Santa Cruz Green Builders would be pleased to help you as a one stop shop for design and construction. Our goal is to figure out how we can turn your dreams into a design that can be built within your budget.
We begin each project with a phone consultation followed by a site-specific feasibility review. Once we understand any zoning constraints, we will lead you through the design process. We will carefully document each decision along the way to develop a comprehensive set of construction documents that ensures your custom project is built exactly as you envision it. We work with industry leading 3D modeling software to bring your project to life, and provide color renderings to ensure that you understand the shape of the building, and to help select interior and exterior finishes.
As the design progresses, we will provide you detailed cost estimates, allowing you to understand construction costs at an early stage, and ensuring the design stays within budget. We will coordinate with required consultants and assemble additional documentation required for permitting with your local jurisdiction. Finally, we will submit the plans and applications for all required permits, respond to questions and comments from reviewing departments, and keep you updated until you have a building permit in hand.
Kitchen design
We offer full service kitchen and interior design services which can take your project from initial concept through completion. We will start by determining your overall aesthetic vision, functional needs, and budget. Then, we will provide you with space planning and layout ideas visualized through floor plans, detailed 3D renderings, and elevations. Cost estimating done in conjunction with our construction team keeps the developing design within your project budget. We will coordinate with any consultants required to complete the design, such as a structural engineer, or a Title 24 consultant. When your design has been fully developed, including detailed cabinet designs, architectural plans, and material specifications and quotes, we will shepherd your project through the City or County permitting process. Our designer will remain involved throughout the construction process to make sure the project is completed seamlessly.
